Mona Lisa Project, A Visual Timeline of Humanity

Mona Lisa Project is an ongoing artistic series by Dutch contemporary artist Florentijn Bruning, spanning more than twenty-five years of continuous creation. Beginning in Venlo in 2001, the project now comprises approximately nine hundred unique portraitS, each one a distinct moment in time, together forming an evolving visual archive of identity, culture and humanity.

Rather than recreating Leonardo da Vinci's iconic masterpiece, Bruning uses the Mona Lisa as a universal symbol, a mirror that reflects the world as it changes. From oil painting to digital art and AI-assisted creation, each work documents not only the transformation of an image, but the transformation of artistic media itself.

For the first time, a curated  Mona Lisa Project selection is available to private collectors, galleries, musea and interior designers. Every work is produced as a museum-quality Fine Art Giclée print or canvas print, using archival pigment inks for exceptional colour accuracy and long-term preservation.
