MONA LISA 757
The Digital Evolution of an Icon
Curator's Note
Part of the ongoing Mona Lisa Project, Mona Lisa 757 explores the relationship between identity, memory and contemporary visual culture. Every artwork within the project reflects a unique moment in time, together forming an evolving artistic practice that has been developing since 2001.
About this Artwork
Mona Lisa 757 reflects the timeless dialogue between tradition and transformation. Inspired by classical portraiture and reimagined through a contemporary visual language, the artwork explores how familiar symbols continue to evolve as culture changes.
Rather than recreating Leonardo da Vinci's original painting, this work investigates what remains when an icon is viewed through a different perspective. Each new interpretation becomes a visual document of its own time, shaped by the influences, aesthetics and questions of the present.
Created as part of the ongoing Mona Lisa Project, Mona Lisa 757 represents one chapter within an expanding body of work that explores identity, cultural memory and the evolving relationship between humanity, art and technology.
